Nautical Science

Nautical Science or Bachelor of Science in Nautical Science is an Under-Graduate Aqua Culture course. In the first year of study, the Nautical Science course focuses on the basics of mathematics, information technology, physics, and basic nautical knowledge.

The Bachelor of Science in Nautical Science program emphasizes a specialized understanding of theoretical and practical areas of Nautical Technology, with an emphasis on the skills and competencies necessary for Navigation, Cargo Operations, and Ship Maintenance and Operations. The three-year Bachelor of Science degree in Nautical Science is divided into six academic semesters.

Nautical Science Eligibility 
  • Pass in 12th Standard or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English as separate subjects with a PCM average of not less than 60%.
  • The candiadate must have secured minimum 50% marks in English language in 10th or 12th standard exam.
  • Qualified in Online Common Entrance Test. The Candidate should appear for IMU Common Entrance Test and must pass the test. The application form for IMU CET is available on www.imu.edu.in.
  • Passport is Mandatory.
  • Age limit: Maximum 25 Years.
  • Medical standard: Candidates must be medically fit including eye sight and hearing as prescibed in the Merchant Shipping (Medical Examination) Rules, 2000, as amended and eyesight 6/6 with no colour blindness. Minimum height should be 157 centimetres.
